National Smile Month is the UK’s largest and longest-running campaign to promote good oral health and here at St Andrews Dental Care we always give it our full support.
The campaign this year is extra special as its actually celebrating its 40th Birthday!
The idea is to engage the local community and to help promote the importance of having a healthy mouth. We have provided thousands of Free Oral Health Check Ups over our time in business and have many times during the process helped people with advice and guidance on how to maintain a healthy smile. We even offer Free Mouth Cancer checks too!
Top 3 ways to maintain a healthy mouth…
- Brush your teeth last thing at night and on at least one other occasion with a fluoride toothpaste.
- Cut down on how often you have sugary foods and drinks.
- Visit your dentist regularly – Of course!
With the help and enthusiasm of those who are passionate about health and wellbeing, National Smile Month 2016 hopes to see thousands of events and activities up and down the UK educate and engage local communities about the importance of a healthy mouth.
The 2016 campaign is taking place between 16 May and 16 June, and encourages dental and health professionals, schools, pharmacies, community groups, colleges and workplaces – in fact anyone with an interest in good oral healthcare, to join in and help educate, motivate and communicate positive oral health messages across the UK.
St Andrews Dental Care are constantly on the lookout for ways to make treatment easier and less invasive and really love working with patients who perhaps are worried about visiting a dentist in the first place.
Come on down to our Open Day on 2nd June – Everyone is welcome regardless of whether you are a patient of ours or not.
